Scheduled Maintenance
Keeping your car? Do scheduled maintenance!
While driving an older car equals big savings by reducing or eliminating a car payment, it also means these owners need to stay on top of necessary repairs and scheduled maintenance, or it could mean costly repairs later or a serious accident that could require a new car altogether.
At TireProz, we have access to the vehicle manufacturer's scheduled maintenance intervals. When you come in for service, we can check the recommended maintenance schedule for your car and advise you which services should be performed to keep your car in shape. In addition, with our courtesy inspection, we will always perform a visual inspection and inform you of the current condition of the systems recommended for maintenance.
Fluids:
Have us check the level and condition of all of your car's essential fluids -- engine oil, coolant, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and brake fluid -- by checking the dipstick or reservoir for each at least quarterly. Each of these fluids is essential for the operation of your car and could mean a loss of steering, shifting, braking, or even an engine seizure if one of these fluids is too low. If you have a leak, get it diagnosed promptly, and if your fluid's condition is deemed contaminated, get it flushed to avoid costly repairs.
Filters:
A clogged air or fuel filter can cause poor performance, poor fuel mileage and reduced engine life. This simple procedure guards against that.
A cabin air filter is part of your vehicle's heating & ventilation system. The cabin air filter can become plugged and not allow air flow; they can become moist, creating mildew and odors; or worse yet, they can collect carcinogens and become harmful to you and your family's health!
Belts & Hoses:
Under your hood, there are many rubber belts and hoses that are crucial to your engine running. Over time, with heating and cooling, the rubber cracks and eventually will split. It is important to replace your belts and hoses when recommended to avoid becoming stranded when they fail.
